UPB understands deciding and planning to build a pool can be exciting, but difficult to navigate.  Should you have any specific questions feel free to contact us and we’ll do our best to help guide you along the path of building your dream oasis. Below are a few of the most common questions we’re asked, along with answers and information to help guide you.

How long does it take to build a pool?

Depending on the season, it typically takes approximately 3-6 months.

When is the best time to install a pool?

UPB builds pools year-round, regardless of the weather. However, the best time to build a swimming pool is before spring and summer. This allows you to have your pool and surrounding landscaping done by the first warm day and allows your family a full season of fun!

What is included in the initial cost of purchasing a pool?

Standard pricing will vary based on ease of access, municipal requirements, backyard topography, possible demolition needs prior to building the pool and local permit costs. Much of the initial expense will be based on what is called the “hardscape”. Hardscape is what is placed around the pool. The size and materials used in decks, patios, waterfalls, gazebos, planter walls and many other features can be simple or sensational. The greatest influence on the total budget is based on the design of your hardscape.

Most pools appear the same. Why do costs vary?

There are many factors that determine the price of a pool. How big is the pool? What extras and custom features are added? The price of a pool is also determined by:

·      Quality of materials and craftsmanship.

·      Soil conditions and the presence of water or rock.

·      Pool equipment upgrades such as innovative pool automation.

Keep in mind UPB never submits low estimates with the intent to increase prices during construction. All estimates incorporate the highest quality materials, craftsmanship, design and equipment.

How much maintenance is involved with a pool?

With today’s automation, chemical testing and maintenance takes only a few hours a week. You can also cut down on maintenance by adding features like an in-floor cleaning system or an osmosis system. Ask your UPB representative about additional time and energy saving options.

Can I finance my pool?

Yes. Many people are taking advantage of lower interest rates and the equity they have in their home. UPB works closely with lenders who specialize in finding a loan that suits your budget. For more information, contact UPB, and we’ll be happy to help!

Does a swimming pool add value to my home?

Yes. The better you take care of your pool and the more you accessorize with landscaping and lighting, the more return you will receive for your investment.
